Course Description

This course is based on SAMHSA’s resource guide “Reducing Vaping Among Youth and Young Adults.” This guide book provides insight into the issue of teen vaping as well as potential avenues for preventing and reducing vaping in younger populations. Currently, about 28% of high schoolers vape, and the issue is only growing in younger populations.

This course will teach important facts about vaping including what kind of substances and devices are used, as well as the dangerous chemicals that are present during vaping. Additionally, this course will provide the participant with information on numerous multilevel approaches to vape prevention. It is recommended that professionals who work with teenagers and young adults take this course. This includes counselors, social workers, therapists, psychologists, and others who may work with teenagers in the future.

Course Learning Objectives

  • Learner will understand the risk factors of vaping in young populations
  • Learner will know the factors for why vaping is prevalent in young populations
  • Learner will know the different levels of anti-vaping programs
  • Learner will know how different programs approach the issue of vaping in young populations
  • Learner will understand some of the goals associated with anti-vaping organizations

Course Requirements

You will be expected to review all materials provided and pass the post-test with a minimum of 80%, in order to receive your certificate of completion. You will also be required to complete a course evaluation. Once you have satisfactorily completed the post-test and submitted your evaluation, you will be able to download your certificate.
