Course Description
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder that is characterized by recurrent and disturbing thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions). People afflicted by this disorder experience significant distress and interference with daily functioning, which compromises their overall well-being. This course will provide a comprehensive explanation of OCD, illustrate the debilitating impact felt by those suffering from the disorder, as well as describe the various treatment options currently available.
Course Learning Objectives
- Identify the attributes, scope and diagnostic criteria of OCD.
- Learn about the relationship between OCD and other psychiatric or mental conditions.
- Understand the impact that OCD has on both society and the individuals suffering from the disorder.
- Consider the various theories regarding etiology of OCD.
- Learn about available treatment options
Course Requirements
You will be expected to review all materials provided and pass the post-test with a minimum of 80%, in order to receive your certificate of completion.
